Internship Programmes for Law Undergraduates

If you are a law undergraduate from NUS or SMU or an overseas scheduled university, you may submit your application to the Legal Service Commission.  More information can be obtained from http://www.lsc.gov.sg.

 

Volunteer Programmes for Lawyers

Requirements:

  • a Qualified Person (as defined in Section 2 of the Legal Profession Act) without a practicing certificate;
  • able to commit to work for not less than half a day a week for at least 3 months during office hours.

Volunteer Assistant Directors of LAB

At the Ministry of Law's Appreciation Dinner on 19 October 2011, NUS Associate Professors Lim Lei Theng and Tang Hang Wu, were presented with the Legal Aid Bureau (LAB) Amicus Award by the Minister for Law, Mr K Shanmugam, in recognition and appreciation of their services as Volunteer Assistant Directors of LAB. Being designated as a Volunteer Assistant Director of LAB allows a volunteer who is Qualified Person (as defined in Section 2 of the Legal Profession Act) but who does not hold a Practising Certificate, the opportunity to volunteer his/her professional services with LAB (including appearing in Court for LAB, where required). Volunteer Programmes for Law Undergraduates

Requirements:

  • a  law undergraduate from NUS or SMU;
  • able to commit to work during term-time 4 hours a day on a weekly basis during office hours for a total of 80 hours.

 

Internship Programmes for Pre-law Students

Requirements:

  • a  student who has secured a place to read law in a scheduled university;
  • able to commit to work 2 months on a full-time basis during office hours.
